Here are the answers to some of the questions we’re asked most often. If you need anything else, our whānau are always happy to help.

How do I place an order?

You can place an order directly through our website or visit us in our Kelston studio.

If you’re looking for something more personal, our Custom Design service allows us to create a kākahu especially for you. Simply get in touch with our team and we’ll guide you through the process.

Need help choosing a size, length or design? We’re always happy to help before you order. Payment options are available at checkout.

How long will my order take?

Our standard lead time for all online orders is 10–15 business days. Need one by a specific date? Please contact our team before placing your order so we can confirm availability.

For custom designs, please allow a minimum of 6+ weeks as these pieces require additional time for consultation, design and making.

How long does shipping take?

Once your order is ready to leave our studio:

North Island, NZ: Overnight tracked courier — $15 NZD
South Island, NZ: 1–2 business days, tracked courier — $25 NZD
International: 2–6 business days, tracked courier — $35 NZD

You’ll receive tracking details once your order has been dispatched. Shipping timeframes apply once your order has been completed and dispatched.

Do you have a shop I can visit?

Yes! Our studio and showroom is located at:

14A Westech Place, Kelston, Auckland

We’re open Monday–Friday, 10am–3pm, with after-hours visits available by appointment. No appointment is needed during our opening hours.

You’re welcome to pop in, browse our collection, try on different sizes and lengths, or kōrero with our team.

Do you have any ready-made stock available ?

Yes! We keep a limited selection of contemporary designs in our studio, including different sizes, lengths and colourways for both adults and tamariki.

Stock changes regularly, so feel free to call us to check what’s currently available or visit our studio during opening hours.

Are your korowai traditionally handwoven?

No. Our pieces are contemporary kākahu (kahu huruhuru), created using modern construction methods, including industrial sewing machines.

Every piece is individually handcrafted with aroha by Hiria and her whānau from our Auckland studio.

We’re a Māori-led, whānau-owned label, creating contemporary pieces that honour connection, storytelling and the people they are made for.
